Z wave Shelly used without hub

Greetings.

I want to crate an automation using two Wave 1 mini as my remote relays and one wave i4 as my input node.

Is this setup able to work without using a hub? (regardless the initial configuration).

From what I know Z wave devices needs a hub they cant communicate with each other with out it. 

@Shelly Wave help correct me if im wrong but two Z wave devices cant connect to each other without the assistance of the Hub

@pauloskonst you're right that can be done, and as you mentioned you will need a controller just for the initial configuration.

You will have to set the associations on your i4 from the desired inputs lets say SW1 and SW2 to the Wave 1 Minis respectively. Using Association Group 4 for the On / Off of the SW 1 and Association Group 6 for sending the On / Off commands of the SW2. Once you setup the associations and confirm that they are working you may remove the controller.

If you will be using only the devices you should not have issues. In case you will mix the controller commands and associations it may happen that you will need to trigger a command twice from the i4.

ahhh so you just need the controller to set it up and then they can work independently
