Networking via VPN

koala

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm getting started with Shelly devices. I bought a Plus Plug S and the H&T Gen3.

I have noticed that I can ping both from my local network (e.g. from the subnet that they are in), but they don't respond to pings from a different subnet. I can reach other devices across subnets because I have a VPN running.

I would like to use ping to monitor the devices from my monitoring system, which is in a different network.

Is this supposed to work like this?

Cheers,

Álex

you should be able to ping any device on the other network.

Have you tried doing this to other devices on that subnet ?
The only thing I can think of at the moment is a setting on the VPN or firewall, could be that the VPN is blocking ICMP traffic.
