I bought a few Shelly Plug S gen3 smartplugs to replace the rapidly failing Athom smart plugs. I already have a few Shelly 1PM devices and those are working well, hence the decision to buy Shelly plugs.

Home automation controller is HomeAssistant, which can access the plugs using Matter, or using the Shelly integration. I decided to try out that shiny-new-should-be-superior Matter. Which was quite a struggle since I am one of those guys that uses a separate VLAN and SSID for his IoT devices but I got it to work eventually and was able to finish the add new device procedure.

However, after adding the plug to HomeAssistant using Matter I only see very few entities. I can identify the device, switch it, and thre is a sensor that tells me that the firmware is up to date. No power, no current, no energy.

Compared to the regular integration:

Just curious; is this a HomeAssistant issue? A Shelly issue? A Matter issue? Or a stupid user error somewhere?
