triax Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) Hi all, I need to remotely control two motorized roller shutters, so I kindly ask for your help. Currently the motors are controlled by a BUS system from BTicino, to implement the latter system (make them smart), I need to spend more than 800 euros for (two more BTicino devices) so I thought I use the shelly relais. As you can see in the attached picture, the four cables from each motor arrive at the up/down buttons next to the shutters, from there two cables go to the control unit installed in the electrical panel. Also the buttons beside the bed are wired to the electrical panel. At the main entrance (upper right corner in the attached picture) there are buttons that control each shutter. With the new system I would like: to maintain the actual position of the buttons; that the roller shutters have to operate automatically (open in the morning, closing in the evening) in case no internet connection is avaleable. Now to the questions: witch shelly device is suitable for these tasks? I guess PM2 Gen3 or also PM2 Plus witch is the best position to instal the shelly devices? In the boxes next to the roller shutters? Then I have to wire every button to the boxes next to the shutters? Or maybe place the shelly devices in the in the junction box? Many thanks in advance. wooly Posted November 25 Posted November 25 PM2 are ok, Putting in the junction box is the simpler way. about controls I would switch to a single button control, with two press to open, a long one to close, a short to stop and three short to open to half. if you want to be more creative you could wire the second button on the second contact [that can just do a safety stop] so you have the fourth command on the main one for a different position. Using the single button you would have also one wire free to supply the shelly. The wires already go to the different places, no need to rewire anything Quote Translate Revert translation? triax Posted November 26 Author Posted November 26 Hi wooly, thank you for the quick replay. You suggest to have single buttons in order to avoid the wiring process? Actually, I need to keep also the "command layout" as it is now, because the flat will also be occupied by elderly people, so I would like to keep the commands simple. May I ask what is the minimum cable thickness for the buttons to the shelly relais? Currently the cables that link each buttons to the control unit (in the electrical panel) have a cable size of 0,5 mm^2. Are the intermediate position obtained through timed actions? Ok for PM2 Plus (not Gen3), I just bought them. Thank you Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) Finnish French German Italian Portuguese (European) Spanish
wooly Posted November 26 Posted November 26 has arrived also the gen 3 ... but price difference is huge [differently than for the 1 ... explaination needed] if it is 0,5mm² keep it, a too thin one risk to break at the switches. The intermediate position are obtained by timed actions, but with the standard two buttons mode you can have it only using a remote control. local command with two buttons for me are less simple than the one button mode, since with two button you must to keep button pressed until required position is not reached, a long time if you wan tto close or open comeltely, wihle with one button you have a gesture for each position, without the need to follow it. You have already the wiring, so the single button is useful only to simplify commands, not to save on wiring. Quote Translate Revert translation?
