What did I do wrong? I thought this would work, but it doesn't. 

S1 is supposed to control the lamp attached to O1. This works correctly.
S2 is not connected, there is no physical switch. Power to the socket is only controlled from inside the software.

The Switch+Lightbulb work correctly. But the socket does not. I can turn the power socket relay on/off in the software, and I can hear the click inside the Shelly, but no power is fed to the socket.

Neutral should feed the socket?  Not Live?  I wouldn't have figured that out by myself.  
Gonna try this! Thanks for the feedback. I'll report back here if it works.

Ah, wait... I think I understand now. It's not "Neutral" feeding the socket, it's O2. Neutral is just there to let the electricity exit...

its all about creating the loop. Good that you managed to get it working and figured it out 🙂
