ControlFreak Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 I've got a 'Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3' connected to an electric heater and a 'Shelly BLU H&T' measuring the temperature. In addition to that I've created two thermostats with different schedules (let's call them A and B) in the same room. The setup is working flawlessly and I can control the temperature in the room. In the app I can choose and activate either thermostat A or B, works fine. My question: Can I have a button or switch to control which thermostat is active (e.g. off: A is active, on: B is active)? If yes, please tell me how to do it. NB. This is a duplicate question. I posted this to a wrong subforum first. Quote Translate Revert translation? Heinz Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 im not sure i think keeping it simple is the best method. Im not sure if there is a way to do this with a home assistant Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
ControlFreak Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 I contacted Shelly technical support. They told me; it's not possible to switch or activate thermostats using switch or button or script. Thermostats are cloud-based. 1 Quote Translate Revert translation? wooly Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) well ... they were too much "cloud based" . a script can easily do the job. but it is all your programming. If you manage to get a shelly1gen3 with the expansion you should be able to do it easily, using the virtual commands and a bit of scripting. Another way would to have an uni with the temperature sensor connected (instad than the costly H&T), using the actions on its output not to activate a contact but to activate a thermostat with awebhook. wooly Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 thinking again: the UNI+ has the possibility to set an action based on temperature. it has two switch inputs too. one of this you use to decide which thermostat is enabled (a detached button, otherwise you lose the possibility to control it remotely}. as an action it would switch one output [ignore it, just connect a led to have a feedback on the command] plus one webhook that enable one or the other schedule on the 1PM. This sounds really promising. Since I already have several Shelly 1 PM Mini Gen3 and H&T, I would be very interested in learning more about virtual commands and scripting. Would you please post some links where I could learn more? Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
wooly Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Actually I have not yet tried that function since I have no H&T devices so all ambiental sensors are on UNI, that works as a termostat, With that one [or any switch with add-on] i use one input [that you can command with a button] to send up to four commands, that set the new temperatures to turn on and off heating [so 4 temperatures]. 1 Quote Translate Revert translation?
