LennyBruce Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Hi We have a holiday accomodation business which has a shared self catering kitchen. It is heated by an electric wall heater. Guest are repeatedly leaving it switched on overnight when no one is using the kitchen. I discover it when checking the kitchen in the morning and it's blazing hot. I cannot use a simple timer, as there is no set time at which people will be using the kitchen. I would like to be able to have an "off" signal to it, once a limit, say 10kwh of electricity has been consumed. This would give the guests the flexibility for them to heat the space when they need but ensures that it's not left running for prolonged periods. Can Shelly devices be programmed to do this? I can't see anything in the app. Many thanks LB Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) Finnish French German Italian Portuguese (European) Spanish
ControlFreak Posted November 16 Posted November 16 How about just a motion sensor, 'switch off if no movement in 2 hours'? Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) Finnish French German Italian Portuguese (European) Spanish
wooly Posted November 16 Posted November 16 it is a completely different thing. maybe the answer could be a script that read the power used every 10 minutes and when if over the set limit shut off the output. Another option, much easier and friendlier would be to tur on the heater with a button. one click start the heater for 1800 seconds, a long click shut off. If people need to use the room for a longer time every 30 minutes have to do one click. if they forget to turn off at maximum would run for 30 minutes more. Quote Translate Revert translation?
