No script logs displayed

Script: 

let greeting = "Hello world!";
print(greeting);

Nothing shown in the script log - seems that the "print"-command is not working here.

I have the same problem. Thank you for the info. I thought that it doesn't execute the script at all. How can you debug your script without the console.

I guess only way is to use gen2 plug and then run code on gen3.

I have contacted support also and they do not seem to be really aware of this issue. So I did send link to this thread, maybe they can release firmware revision. Shelly is kinda good with fixing bugs so far.

I bought the Gen3 because of the virtual components, but then you can't write a program because the console doesn't work. It would be better if they got rid of Matter, I wouldn't miss it at all, just like I miss the console.

I can't believe the latest available firmware for this device is dated August 20th 2024...

I can understand Matter add some extra validation delay (BTW I don't need Matter either) but it sounds very looooong...

Another way/workaround to get the logs is to use wscat from PC (if Windows PC, you first need to install Node.js then wscat package)

I, too, like you, am experiencing the same problem. I own a Shelly Plus Plug S, for which I created a script that works perfectly and prints output to the console, which I use to monitor the device's status.

I recently purchased a Shelly Plug S Gen 3 and applied the same script to it. However, calls to `print()` or `console.log()` produce no output. At first, I thought the issue was with my code or the device’s settings, but after discovering this thread, I realised the problem is related to the firmware.

As the saying goes, "a trouble shared is a trouble halved". Not very comforting, but at least I know I'm not alone in this.

Incredible that Shelly introduces a bug for Matter support. They should at least provide a firmware "without Matter". The fact that the current firmware  is dated August 2024 (version 1.2.3 !) is a sign on how active they are working on it.

At least Shelly did something about that script memory limitation AND the local logging problem due to MATTER support by providing the 1.6.3 beta firmware for the Plug S Gen3. Great thanks to the Shelly team !!
