Our house has a Zehnder ComfoFan Silent mechanical ventilation unit. Its ventilation speed can be controlled using a 0-10V dimmer. For this purpose, I've tried using the Shelly Dimmer 0/1-10V PM Gen3, but failed. This is either because I miswired the device or because this Shelly device is simply incompatible with this ventilation unit.

Could you help me understand if what I'm trying to do is possible?

Attached is an image of the terminals on the mechanical ventilation unit, and an image of the terminals on Shelly Dimmer 0/1-10V PM Gen3.

How would I wire these to make this work?

For reference, what I've been using so far is the Qubino Flush Dimmer 0-10V, which works flawlessly in terms of controlling the ventilation speed, however, its Z-Wave connection isn't reliable, hence my desire to switch to Shelly over Wi-Fi.

 Appreciate your help!

I tried several things. In all scenarios, L and N on the Shelly device were directly connected to a power socket obviously.

Tried:

  • Ventilation 0...10 Volt DC (input) to 0-10V + on Shelly.
  • Ventilation 0...10 Volt DC (input) to 0-10V + on Shelly AND Ventilation 12 Volt DC (output) to 0-10V - on Shelly.
  • Ventilation 0...10 Volt DC (input) to O on Shelly.

There are of course more combinations possible but I'm hesitant to try them all without knowing exactly what I'm doing. Any suggestions from smarter people are very welcome. 😊

@thgoebel Thanks for the drawing, appreciate your time. Sadly, it didn't make a difference, i.e. changing the brightness on the Shelly device doesn't influence the ventilation speed.

One thing to point out perhaps is that the Qubino device had its 0-10V on one wire, which corresponds to what the ventilation unit offers, whereas the Shelly device has 0-10V on two wires. Not sure how to deal with that though.
