Hello,

I recently purchased the new Shelly H&T Gen 3, and while I'm excited about its features, I've noticed that the temperature updates only seem to happen once every hour, if not longer. This extended interval feels excessive, especially for a device designed to monitor real-time temperature changes.

I have the H&T Gen 3 running on 4 AA batteries, which should provide ample power to support more frequent updates. For comparison, my Blink cameras operate on just 2 AA batteries, support video recording, and still last for up to two years. I’ve also tried plugging in the H&T, but the update frequency remains the same, which suggests a firmware limitation.

Could the developers consider a firmware update that allows users to select the update interval, particularly for those of us who use the device plugged in? This change would make the product significantly more responsive and versatile. from what I can tell, the product is not getting good reviews. Also, it doesn't have a backlight, so it is useless at night.

Thank you for your consideration.

@Mike Iem You can influence the frequency of waking up on battery power by changing the value for Temperature threshold.

A prerequisite for this is also a real temperature change

I have had similar problems with the Shelly H&T Gen3.  It seems that the device goes into a "sleep" state during the night in my time zone and only ever partially wakes up.  By partially I mean that it will update it's screen but any thermostat that uses the H&T as the sensor will not be triggered - EVER.  Even if the temperature changes are reported in the dashboard activity log any thermostat using the H&T sensor does NOTHING.  I was able to coax a thermostat into action by manually turning the thermostat off and then back on.  After that the unit seems to work as anticipated until another night passes.

When the device goes into this sleep state it reports NOTHING for many hours.  Even if the spec says that it shall make a complete report every two hours mine made no communication from 11:29 PM till 7:30 the next morning.  NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL! I have the device configured with a fixed IP so I could see no traffic.  It is perplexing that 7:70 am was the start time of a "heat" interval and the switch commanded to heat was indeed turned on.. but well after the target temperature was exceeded it would not turn off.  At 9:09 AM I triggered action by manually turning the thermostat off and then back on which finally triggered turning the commanded switch OFF with when the set temperature (69F) was well exceeded for hours (74.5F).  After that the device seems to behave as would be expected.

I also noted that frequently in my activity log the temperature gets reported in Celsius vs Fahrenheit.  My entire system is programmed in deg Fahrenheit.

I have a similar problem. The Gen3 is powered via USB. Temperature change threshold 0.5C. Even if the temperature changes more it will take 10-30 minutes for the device to actually report it. The display does change and show the temperature change. The MQTT however does not report anything. The HT does not wake up in terms of "connect to the Wlan". While the previous HT constantly reports the values ever 5 minutes, the Gen3 does so much less frequently and without any predictable frequency.
