I have written home automation software in the past and am experimenting with that possibility again.  I see there are a few methods of communicating with Shelly devices, but my first test are with simple URLs from a browser (or simple web page) to Shelly devices.  For example:

http://10.0.0.32/relay/1?turn=on

I get a Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) error.

I use a few different Shelly device types, of which, only two types have a setting to allow Cross-Origin Resource Sharing, and of those, testing shows that only one actually works.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Hello Heinz,

I have several other Shelly devices, but the ones I have tested with for CORS are:

Gen1:

Shelly1:  Does have a CORS setting, however it does not work and results in a CORS error.

Shelly RGB2: Does have a CORS setting, and does work correctly.

Plus (is this Gen2?):

Shelly Plus Wall Dimmer: Does not have a CORS setting, and results in a CORS error.

Shelly plus Plug US: Does not have a CORS setting, and results in a CORS error.
