Hello All

I'm wondering if this is possible somehow (maybe with scripts?)...

Situation now:

Let's say I usually use a different Smart Home Solution where I control everything including the Shellys. Now lets say I have some Smart Bulbs, which are also controlled by Shellys. Therefor that Shelly Relay Type is defined as "Detached Mode" for example. Normally everything works as expected, I would just like to have a Fallback method.

Situation to be tackled:
So let's say the Smart Home System goes offline. Then I cannot control any of the Smart Bulps anymore. But because most of them have a "when powered on" state/option if I change the Shelly from "Detached Mode" to "Toggle" I can still control the Smart Bulb (just on and off of course).

Solution to be found:

Manually reconfiguring all the Shellys is kind of nonsense, especially when you have a few dozens of them... But what if could just control them all at once and send a command to all of them change to a different Relay Type? I'm envisioning something like a script I could call (maybe a button from a Shelly Wall Display) once the Smart Home System is down to reconfigure the Relay-Type of all the Shellys so that they are able to control the Smart Bulbs with Power ON/OFF.
Once the Smart Home System is back up and running I could then use the opposite way to reconfigure all the Shellys as to what they were before so the Smart Home System can take back over control.

I have not played at all with Shelly Scripts as for now but would if someone could point me into the direction or even tell if that is possible somehow with Shelly or not.

You don't say which smart home system which intelligent lights and how the lights are controlled via Shelly.

  • It will be difficult to make a definitive statement.

All three (smart home system, Shelly, lights) have a certain level of intelligence so it shouldn't be a problem to solve your task.

I probably have a very similar application with HA system, Shelly, Tuya lights and I was able to solve this challenge quite easily with a script.
