DanDanDanK
I was under the impression that the Wall Display only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and that this is a limitation through hardware. Further, the specification asserts: Quote Protocol: 802.11 b/g/n RF band: 2401 - 2495 MHz Now I received this information from Shelly support: " you have connected the Wall Display to a 5Ghz network, however, all of our devices should be connected to a 2.4Ghz in order to operate correctly." This contradicts the specification and also the log file of my Wi-Fi access point. Can anybody make sense of this? Thanks. Dan Edited November 7 by DanDanDanK Quote Translate Revert translation? Heinz
there you can see that the device is connected to the 2.4Ghz network as it should be. All to most IoT devices will all work on 2.4Ghz. All Shelly devices only work on the 2.4Ghz frequency. is there a reason you would like to have the devices on 5Ghz frequency ? Quote Translate Revert translation? bollar
For me, my 2.4 spectrum is crowded with neighbors and my own devices. Anything I can move to 5Ghz, especially high bandwidth devices, would be welcome. Quote Translate Revert translation? Hello Heinz, Sorry, is my wording that bad? I did not insinuate that I would like to have the devices working on 5 GHz frequency. It was the Shelly support that stated:"you have connected the Wall Display to a 5Ghz network", see my original post above please. Shelly support claimed that the Wall Display was not operating correctly because I had connected it the a 5 GHz network. However, that claim is nonsense. We all know that this is impossible and I thus could not make sense of this statement. I think Shelly support needs some more training (to find plausible excuses why there devices do not work properly). Enjoy the Sunday! 1 Quote Translate Revert translation? That is a common issue with any wifi flooding of the 2.4 spec and the channels it becomes a very fine placed balance game depending on the amount devices. Quote Translate Revert translation?
