Turning on shellyPlug with shellyH&T FAILS

Recommended Posts

I have the following devices:

  • Shelly Plus Plug S V2 with latest firmware v1.4.4
  • Shelly H&T Gen 3 with latest firmware v1.4.5 running on batteries

What I need to achieve is to turn on Shelly Plug under 2 conditions:

  • if temperature is under 23°C AND
  • if time is between 03:00 and 08:00

Apart from that, I have a heat pump unit plugged into a regular socket with its own thermostat, and the unit will turn on based on exactly the same conditions as above. The reason of this setup is that Shelly Plug hosts secondary pump because integrated pump of heat pump unit is too weak. Both - thermostat and Shelly H&T are synchronized.

From documentation: When Shelly H&T runs on batteries, it wakes up every minute to do a measurement. If there is a 0.2 °C temperature or 3% humidity difference, the screen updates. The default threshold for reporting is a change of 0.5 °C or 5%. If the change is less, there will be no report sent. If for two hours there is no report based on threshold values, the Device unconditionally (disregarding threshold values) reports its status to Shelly Cloud and other connected channels.

The issue here is that if temperature in room at 2:59 is 20°C so when clock hits 3:00, Shelly H&T won't enable Shelly Plug because temperature is still SAME 20°C. This means that Shelly Plug can be enabled any time between 3:00 and 5:00 often wasting 2 hours!

I could set the time of Shelly H&T to 1:00 instead of 3:00, but this would have the opposite effect, as the Shelly Plug could run in vain for 2 hours!

I honestly expected Shelly H&T to be less dumb! The threshold is 0.5°C (no idea how to change it to 0.2°C as documentation says) and time factor is totally ignored!

Is there any way how to solve this issue?
