Fade-in with motion sensor

Hi,

As one of my first steps with automation, I want to replace a simple switch + led light with a motion sensor and led strip.
When the motion sensor detects movement I'd like the led strip to fade in slowly.

A first test with a motion sensor has my existing led bulb constantly going on and of at about 1Hz... I guess the motion sensor is not suitable for leds.

Anyway, without any experience, could I get some pointers what components I need to get this sorted?

to have a reply you should say alsop whic components are you using and how is wiring and programming. From what you say it looks that fade time is too short
