Only 3 inputs working on Shelly Plus i4

Hi,

I installed a brand new Shelly plus i4 together with the "Shelly Wall Switch 4" as follows

  • The cables of the Wall switch are connected to the Shelly with cable-end sleeves.
  • I configured each input as a "button"
  • Each input toggles another shelly device (Shelly 1) using "Actions".

Everything worked fine for about a week. Suddenly "Input 4" stopped working. I checked in the app and the web interface as well. Wenn I press the button, the input is just not recognized (shows N/A). The other 3 inputs continue to work as expected.

I tried the following:

  • Rebooting the Shelly
  • Firmware update
  • Check the cable connections
  • Switch the cables of two buttons to verify that the problem is the shelly and not the wall switch

What else can I do? For me it seems like a defect of the shelly.

Appreciate your help!

Johannes

PS: I installed quite a lot of other Shellys before. Got some experience in electrical installations as well

Claim for a replacement with your distributor! Obviously, the input has gone…

With a certain likelihood the terminal screw was fastened with excess torque, which causes the solder joint to break…

Thank you, I'll do that.

Don't think I used a lot of torque, but sounds reasonable anyway
