DanDanDanK Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Hello, regarding the Shelly Wall Display: How do I remove the display module from the power module without breaking anything? When I attached these module together, I heard a click. Obviously, there are locking tabs that lock these modules together. I don't know if you have to somehow manipulate these tabs but they are inaccessible when the device is mounted on (or rather in) the wall, anyway. Note, I've already removed the screw at the bottom of the display module. Any ideas besides "pull hard but carefully"? Thanks Dan Quote Translate Revert translation? Sorry - there are no locking tabs! The plug-in connector (upper half) and the screw (lower rim) hold the two parts together. Best practise is to loosen the screw and untighten the display part by use of a lever (wooden or plastic stick). Quote Translate Revert translation? Is "latching nose" or "locking detent" better? I'm not a native English speaker. Whatever is the correct term, clearly there are 4 latching means provided on the side of the round recess of the power module to engage into recesses on the display module. With that said, I tried again and applied just enough force to unfasten the modules without breaking anything. Now accessible, I bent the latching means so that they hopefully no longer lock with so much pressure. Edited October 9, 2024 by DanDanDanK Quote Translate Revert translation? Phoenix1jl96 Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 (edited) il n'y a pas de risque de casser l'écran que de faire ainsi ?? d'abord desserrer la vis et ensuite faire pression ?? I guess there's always the risk of breaking something. Be careful. To detach, first remove the screw at the bottom of the frame, then pull and pray that you don't rip the power module from the wall box instead. Quote Translate Revert translation? tunichgud Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 You don't need to use brute force. The bracket is attached to two hooks. These are on the left and right. By pulling the wall bracket to the left, you can release one of the hooks on the inside. Repeat the process for the hook on the right. I first removed the switch itself (simply pull it off, you can use a screwdriver to help) and then used the screwdriver to lever the bracket out of the right and left clips. I don't know what you are describing. Which "brackets" are you referring to? Here, the discussion is about the wall display and how to detach its display module from its power module. GJ14 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 feedback from Shelly support: There are 4 pins that connect the display itself with the power supply. After you unscrew the screw, you need to wiggle the screen a little bit, so that the 4 pins get loose and it should pop off. It cannot harm the display or the pins, and this is by design. arkismad Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Struggling with this at the moment, my unit isn't attached to the wall so I feel like I can't get the proper leverage. I'm very close to just sending it back honestly which is a shame because it looks like a lovely device and perfect for my needs Quote Translate Revert translation? Members thgoebel Posted January 9 Members Posted January 9 This is my way: (a) Loosen the screw (it need not to be removed) (b) Lift the inner part (power supply) slightly, using a small screwdriver as leverage: (b) Prick the screwdriver gently in the gap between the backside of the display and the power supply and twist the screwdriver slightly: (d) Do this at the three holes: (e) The power supply should now be detachable… 2 Quote Translate Revert translation? arkismad Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Amazing thank you! Will give it a try after the kids have been fed. One more question I don't know if you will know the answer but worth a shot. Any tips on installing to a UK back box? Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish

Birgir Hrafn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 It did take me a while to get it out and I had to use thin carboard on the edges to keep pressure and I had to "poke the hooks" a little bit. But no rough motions needed. Thanks ghgoebel, this helped a lot. Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
