Colin Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 My Shelly EM have been running for about 2 years prior to it stop working last year. I haven't been bothered to check it out until now. The device is making a hissing noise when it is powered up almost like water running through a pipe. P1 and P2 is measuring 10ohm but the device doesn't show up in the app. I've tried resetting it by pressing the reset button for 10 sec. The red light is still showing, and I cannot see anything burnt on the board. Is there any way to know for sure that it is dead? Quote Translate Revert translation? This capacitor(s) may be replaced, rendering full functionality… Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
Lions Bert Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I have 3x a EM and they have all of them the same problem. Do you have instructions to replace the capacitor(s)? Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
Members thgoebel Posted December 25, 2024 Members Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) 3 electrolytic capacitors are the usual subjects: 2 pc. 4,7μF/400V and one 100μF/16V: (Relay module, terminal block and one capacitor removed.) The 400V capacitors should not have more than 6mm diameter and not more than 11,5mm length; the 16V capacitor not more than 5mm diameter and 11mm lenght. Do have these parts in stock… Edited December 25, 2024 by thgoebel Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) French German Italian Polish Portuguese (European) Spanish
