Pro PM vs. Plus PM?

Hi guys,

I am looking at using Shelly for a small commercial project and the initial thought was using the Pro 1 & 4PM because of the LAN connectivity, I've tested the units and they work great.

The problem is that the client is now changing their mind and saying that LAN may not be an option and asking could we use Shelly Plus 1PM fitted behind the sockets. There will be around 50 sockets that need controlling.

My question is, what is the difference between the PRO and non-Pro Shelly switches? If we exclude the convenience elements (LAN, rail mounting, physical buttons...) is there any other major difference in the hardware that would make the PRO PM more reliable than the Plus 1PM?

The cost is not an issue in this case, just reliability.

Many thanks

The volume of „pro“ devices is generally larger as with devices of „plus“ series. Especially the Shelly plus 2PM has a very dense package due to the amount of electronic parts it houses. Thus, the inside temperature of „pro“ devices will be slightly lower as with „plus“ devices, which has an impact to the reliability.

As mentioned the only thing is the size and temp of the device. The functionality will remain the same as the Pro device. One point to keep in mind is the Generation of the device as gen 2 "Plus" and Gen 3 have moved flash memory and an other chip that is a bit faster.
