Transferring Shelly devices from Wi-Fi one to Wi-Fi two

Transferring a large number of Shelly devices from one Wi-Fi network to another can be a lengthy and tedious process if done one at a time. Fortunately, there is an efficient method that allows you to move multiple devices simultaneously, significantly speeding up the process.

To make this work, you will need both the original Wi-Fi network, to which the Shelly devices are currently connected, and the new Wi-Fi network available at the same time.

Note: The Wi-Fi security needs to still remain on a WPA2 setting and on 802.11 b,g,n network standard.

Note: The following guide is done on the Control.shelly.cloud site but this will work the same way as on the phone application

Steps:

Open the site and login to your Shelly account.
Go to the Home menu option, and click on the All Devices Tab

From here, find the vertical ellipsis located on the right-hand side of the screen. (In the app, you'll see it above the filter button.)

From here you have the option to update all the Shelly devices at the same time and or change the Wi-Fi. Click on the "Wi-Fi batch change option"
You will now be asked to select the devices you want to change over to the new Wi-Fi. Click on "Select All"

The next step is to click on the "Change" button and select the Wi-Fi channel you want to switch from. Note that some devices may only offer a "Wi-Fi 1" option. For safety, choose the "Wi-Fi 2" option if available. Click on the Next button.

In this step input the SSID ( the name of your Wi-Fi ) into the edit box. Note: This is case-sensitive so make sure it is typed in correctly as it is in the Wi-Fi settings on your router!

Input the Password of your New Wi-Fi

Note the below is an example and not the name of your SSID and network.

Click on Save and your Devices will now be sent the new settings to connect from your old Wi-Fi to the New Wi-Fi all at once.

By following these steps, your Shelly device will be successfully added to your new Wi-Fi network, and the Shelly App, ready for use.
