I'm trying to use this device with home assistant in a container on a Raspberry Pi 5. I've tried two ways:
1) add it to the Shelly app through a shelly plus device with bluetooth enabled. It shows up in the Shelly app, but not in home assistant in the Shelly integration
2) add the device directly to the Raspberry Pi 5 thanks to the bthome integration.

Then add the automation

Which throws the error:

Message malformed: extra keys not allowed @ data['type']

Unfortunately using it doesn't work. The idea is to control other devices than Shelly devices. Help is appreciated

I actually got it to work through option 2). I had to recreate the container and pull the latest stable image of HA. Apparently they fixed the issue for the Blu wall button and fixed it for the RC as well.

How it would work through Shelly itself remains unclear to me

I would need to check this I still have to set up my own HA server. I could then try it and see. 

so from what you said you just updated your HA server ?
