Walt
Walt
I just did a short video about this issue... Affected are all new Shelly 1 Gen3 devices in the account. If I would enter the correct Password, it will work for about 1 hour normally. After that time, the entered PW will be forgotten, and it goes like in the Video: It switches one time (ON or OFF, even without PW), and then it's locked until App restart. - Makes no sense to me. - If "locked", it should remain locked until the right PW will be entered. - But the lock is gone after App restart, as you can see. Shelly Olsche Posted September 15 Shelly Share Posted September 15 Basic question: Do you want authentication/password protection for these devices? You can activate/deactivate authentication in the WEB UI Quote Translate Revert translation? Walt
I know. If I would deactivate that authentification, the problem would probably be solved. I was thinkting about that, indeed. On the other side, this authentification is a kind of additional security, I guess. Isn't it? - By now, it's not, because you could "open the garage" as well, with one click, as you can see in the video. Another thing, I observed today: This problem seems to only exist, when I'm in my local network (Wifi) with the iPhone, where all Shelly devices are in too. If I deactivate WiFi on the Phone and use cellular network, the PW protection won't be applied, and it seems to work normal (a little slower, but that's normal) Not sure, if the problem is somewhere here in my local network from FritzBox! or UniFi Network (I have 4 Ubiquiti Pro AP's) Anyway, if I don't find the problem, I think, deactivation of this authentification password is the only acceptable solution for now. Is there anybody, who faced the same issue? Edited September 15 by Walt Quote Translate Revert translation? Chris1287
Hallo everybody, same problem here. But I think it happens everytime when there is a new update of the app version. For me it is not an option to deactivate the authentication because then everybody in our local network can control the Smart Home devices (kids are very smart these days :D). So hopefully there will be a solution for this bug. Thank you in advance. Best regards Christian Edited September 15 by Chris1287 1 Quote Translate Revert translation? Walt
Thank you Christian for the proof, that I'm not alone with this issue, and that it's not a problem of my local Network! Hopefully, Shelly will find a fix for this issue soon and release another update. Quote Translate Revert translation?
