Shelly 2PM not reacting to button if cover is closed

HI,

I've an issue w/ my Shelly 2PM configured as cover.

In general it is working fine. The profile is set to cover and the calibration was successful.
The input type is "button" (we have a two button switch on the wall, up & down).

As long as I am using only the App to open & close the cover everything is working fine.
I can also use the up & down buttons as long as the cover was not 100% open.

If the over was opened (either by app or by button) and the cover is 100% open the Shelly wont react anymore to the down button.
In this state I can only close the cover by using the app. As soon as the cover is out of 100% open, like e.g. 99% open and I stop it - both buttons are working again.

So long story short: My Shelly 2PM is not reacting to the close button only if the state is 100% open.

No, really no idea, I would have to try to reproduce it somehow. Firmware is 1.4.2?

A first measure to evaluate the issue would be to set „Swap Inputs“ to „disabled“. No other changes, please! The buttons should be interchanged after this intervention. Does the behaviour of the cover remain the same? Close function NOT possible in 100% open position with the (now interchanged) close button?

Just tested .. no difference. 

To make sure I got you correct: I only disabled the swap input setting. I didn't changed the hardware like do the swap in HW instead of SW. I mean I then simply tried the other button. At the end it is only the printed arrow but it doesn't matter 😃

TLDNR: I disabled the "swap input" setting as suggested and then tried to close the cover w/ the (now) "open" button .. no change still not working (also not with the other button).

Thanks for the test and the reply! It is now clear that it isn’t a hardware issue with the switch.

It is really strange .. once I closed the cover 0.00001% it is immediately working (open/close w/ the buttons). But once the cover is fully opened I can only leave this state via the app button. In case the cover is completely closed there is no issue to open it via the HW button. 🤔

It's really strange. Have you tried recalibration? Do you see a reaction to the key press in the diagnosis in the WEB UI?

Nope, no activity when the cover is open and I click (doesn't matter which) button. If I click a button and the cover is not complete open there are logs. I will try to re-calibrate later on. By the way .. should the calibration start w/ an open or closed cover?

I've repeated the calibration but it is still not working.
