oldtechie
Hi All, I *think* the i4DC is a Plus device - there's a "plus" log on the box, so...apologies if this is in the worng section 🥴 As per subject line really. I have 4 (soon to be 6) i4DC devices attached to Shelly light switches, I think the idea is great, both mechanically & for IoT etc However, I tested the i4DC & a switch a while ago, proved it works OK, now I bought a bunch more. I'm now commissioning them, however, I'm really very fed up with the completely different web front ends on them. They all have different web front ends. I hit the "check for updated firmware" button (in different places of course) & they all say "nope nothing there" The fact that one of them actually says "beta" in the firmware string does raise my eyebrows significantly... I'm mor ethan capable of updating the firmware, I just need the code files. I've used Tasmota on a loty of Sonoff devices, so that is an option, but I don't really think I want to do that, I'd rather stick with the stock firmware - asuming I can get one. It's not a Gen1 device as it's not in the .de repostory - I looked several times. Please can someone help & point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Moderators terae Posted August 26 Moderators Share Posted August 26 Take web browser connection straight to the device's IP and make sure you have working network connection with working NTP server connection too (right time synced). Then update from there. Very old factory versions doesn't work good with new cloud and app, actually don't almost work at all. So you need to do first more low level update. Moderators terae Posted August 26 Moderators Share Posted August 26 If needed use these to get more recent version from start. But make sure the connection is working right. Those beta versions may need this. Also after every update do refresh browser cache. Edit: Note the i4 is the same firmware to both AC and DC. https://shelly-infra1-eu.shelly.cloud/stable-firmware/PlusI4/fw-signed.zip
