Clayts
Hi I'm a Shelly newbie and I'm looking for some advice on how I can use a Shelly device to control electric gates. the issue I have is that the gates are far from my house and the Wi-Fi won't reach. is there a Shelly device that I can connect an ethernet cable to and therefore extend the range of the Wi-Fi to make the gates work? Additionally I would also like to connect a camera to the front of the gates so I can see who arrived. Any advice would be great Thanks
Heinz
All the Shelly Pro devices have an RJ-45 network port integrated into the device. The Pro devices similar to the gen2 and Gen3 Devices can act as an Access point. However, the name of the SSID can not be changed. You could then add a camera to the AP of the Shelly Pro. But I think it would be simpler to have a PoE switch at the gate to then power a camera and provide network connectivity to the Shelly and Camera at the gate. Regarding what shelly to use by the gate would need more information on what type of gate controller you currently have to provide the best solution
tvbshelly
The Shelly Pro series devices have an Ethernet connection. However, these devices are intended more for DIN rail mounting
