Damic Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Hi; why aren't there lower current CT's like 25A? I like the 3EM and PRO50 but it would be nice to chose with lower value CT's. As an example my own home: main breaker is 1phase 40A (but I can upgrade to 3x25A) al the rest is 20A (of 16A for lights) Or I for-see every group I want to monitor with a PM mini, or I could take a 3EM/PRO50 and have 25A CT's on it = less main devices in the cabinet What would Shelly think of that? *CT: current transformer Quote Translate Revert translation? tvbshelly Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Why not also measure the lower currents with 50A or 120A CTs? For example, I use a PRO 3EM with 120A CTs to measure my three-phase PV system, which has a maximum of 16A per phase and the measured values are correct. 1 Quote Translate Revert translation? Damic Posted August 19 Author Posted August 19 Yes you can do that, but on lower currents the tolerance is way worse. 1 Quote Translate Revert translation? English (American) Finnish French German Italian Portuguese (European) Spanish
Members thgoebel Posted August 19 Members Posted August 19 (edited) Transmission ratio of both current clamps is 1:3000. Τhus, the secondary current is the same with both types. Only the saturation limit of the ferrit core is different. Edited August 19 by thgoebel 1 Quote Translate Revert translation?
