Shutter tilt position (angle)

Dear Shelly,

since you have Qubino-based Shutter that can do "Control the tilt position (angle) of the venetian blind slats", how about bringing that functionality to the non-Z-wave line of products?

I have 1000+ EUR worth of Shelly gear in my house, many of them are 2PMs for venetian blinds. As a loyal customer (that have recommended your gear to countless people) I really feel let down by the lack of new functionality. 😭

I'm happy to help, if you guys need software engineering resources to get this done.

I'm also interested why 2PM devices don't have tilt control available since it should be pretty simple to add it.

I totally agree, I don't understand why they don't implement it natively.
On Facebook's support page there are different implementation options, but no option has been implemented.

So from what I found out it is in the road map but Unfortunately no eta on when it's going to be released and on what version of the product. 

Yes, the Shelly Wave 2pm has that option but between the wave and the shutter, they are two separate products. 
This is all I am able to provide at this current time but yes it will be coming

Hello, 

i saw that the new shelly 2 pm gen3 ( https://www.shelly.com/en-ch/products/product-overview/shelly-2-pm-gen3) got the slat control feature. Will this feature also be available for 2pm plus devices? I have several of them and do not want to exchange all of them. Hardwarewise, it should work and i guess the software would also run on the older hrdware…

it‘s a pity that nobody from the shelly team responses to my question. up to now it seems for me that the only reason why the new feature is only available for gen3 devices is to sell more new devices… 😞

Hi @u20p17 still catching up on all the posts. Most of the team was at the IFA event during the time of your question was asked. 

The Gen2 will not have this feature from what I know it will only be available for the wave and 2PM gen 3. Hardware and firmware give the 2 PM gen 3 the capability to have a tilt feature

thanks for the answer. 

Still I do not get why it is not possible to bring this feature to gen2 devices. Somewhere I read that it has to less memory, but i think that lot of users would choose this feature, even if they loose another one (if shelly would need to save some space)…

Wow.. that is really disappointing! I really hope they change their mind as in my opinion it’s just a software thing… what hardware difference should limit it?!

The memory… do you really believe that? There are always possibilities to solve it. It’s just to force us to buy the Gen 3 - and I will definitely not.

There is a reason it got released with the Gen 3 if it comes with Gen 2 only time will tell lets wait for the devs to do what they need to and then will know the definitive reason. 

For now, there is at least the option for the tilt function that was not available before

Hello, I bought the 2pm gen3 devices because of that tilt position control feature but I found out, it cant be controlled via wall switch. Or better to say, it can be controlled via the wall switch but only in steps! What a disappointmentr! You cant do precise controll of slat position. @Heinz Do you know if there is a plan to implement slat position controll the same way like it was done for qubino devices? (which is much better)

what version of the firmware are you currently running on the device as when i used it on the demo i found it to be qutie good.

could you add more details on the issue you are facing to then provide the feed back to the team
