Godtooro
Hello!! I’ve a doubt. I’ve several Shelly’s 1L as light switching but I’m hesitating, do can I use Shelly 1L at wall socket (I don’t have neutral) to connect for example a fridge?
Members thgoebel
In every wall socket is a neutral wire! Otherwise, the socket didn’t work… Back to your issue: Switching a refrigerator on and off with a Shelly 1L is not a good idea, cause the Shelly incorporates besides a relay also a transistor (MOSFET) in the current path. This transistor will be damaged by voltage spikes provoked by switching an inductive load like the fridge. It would be better to use a Shelly plus 1, plus 1PM or Mini 1 or Mini 1PM. Godtooro
@thgoebel thank you so much! This is because is better to ask. I’m going to follow your advice and I’m going to acquire one the Plus 1, Plus 1pm, or minis. Thank you again!
