Hello,

I have connected a lamp to a Shelly Dimmer 2.
The Shelly is controlled via iobroker. When certain events occur, iobroker switches the lamp on via the Shelly. The lamp is then dimmed to 20%.

I have now also connected a motion detector to the Shelly. If the motion detector detects movement, the Shelly should dim the lamp to 100%. After a certain time, the lamp should be dimmed back to 20%.

You can see the wiring in the picture.

I have set the Shelly Button Type to "Detached".

Unfortunately, I cannot see any change in the status of the Shelly in iobroker. The motion detector switches in any case and the Signla also appears on the Shelly SW1. I have checked this.

How can I recognize the switching process in iobroker? What value should change in the Shelly?

When you write, cheked this, do you mean checked the electrical signal on the input terminals or the logic state of the signal on microcontroller level of the Shelly?

I assume that you might have the problem that comes with many PIR sensors, that they lead to permanent logical high level at the Shelly input, so that the Shelly microcontroller can't distinguish between PIR beeing switched on or off.

You can check this by looking at the status response. Within the shelly network, use a browser to get the status by the request

http://IPofShelly/status

You will get back a JSON string response and about in the middle of that string you get information of the two input pins and the current logic level. Try to switch the PIR and then reload status response to see, if the logic level changes. If it doesn't, you will need to alter your installation. You can use an isolating relay to be on the safe side or try a series resistor at the input.

Second issue could be the PIR needs a minimum load. In this case, a solution wold be to add a relay after execution of the diagnostics that @dewaldo did propose:

(BWM equals PIR. Other Shelly types are applicable.)

Relay must have a 230V AC coil and a singe NO contact.
