TMG Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Hello, I have replaced my Shelly 3EM with a Shelly 3EM pro. With regard to the 4 terminals, I would like to know whether the N terminal is absolutely necessary In other words, what is the additional N-clamp, which is not included in the scope of delivery, for? Members thgoebel Posted July 24 Members Posted July 24 (edited) The current clamp „N“ is absolutely unnecessary! With Shelly 3EM it is possible to detect differences between the (geometrical) sum of the three phase currents and the current in neutral wire. Via an action, the switch of 3EM could be triggered. With some trade-off, a RCD could be build with this… Due to the fact, this mechanism isn’t available with Shelly pro 3EM, I see absolutely no benefit in installing the N current clamp.
