Custom NTP Server not recognized with firmware 1.33

Hello,

we are using shelly pro 1. I bought a freh new one and at first i did not update the firmware (was something 0.14...). to update the time we are using a custom NTP server. connecting and fetching time went smootly.
Then I updated firmware to 1.33 and fetching time from the custom NTP server stopped working. No matter what I do, nothing works.
If anybody has an idea what the reason could be, i would be glad to get an answer.

is the shelly device getting the IP address statically or dynamically? 

only thing I can think of is that the geolocation and the NTP server are not in the same place
